It's Not About YOU

“I have to preach the gospel to myself everyday because I forget it everyday.”  –Martin Luther

Many Christians spend a dreadful amount of time trying to be better people, as if good works and self-righteousness will earn them Heaven.  The point of the gospel is not to make us stronger Christians; it’s to make us aware, that we being weak are in desperate need of a Christ.  Remember, it’s not about what you do that saves you; it’s about what Christ has already done for you.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast  (Ephesians 2:8-9, NIV).
