Fuel Up

“The secret of getting ahead is getting started.”  -Agatha Christie

The rain pouring down, the gas thermometer on E and my dad’s Suburban stranded on the road, this new driver called everyone I knew.  Before I could reach someone a car slammed into the rear of the Suburban.  I learned an invaluable lesson that day: I need gas!  I tell that story to say that every day Christians need to fuel up in prayer before depletion and be filled with God’s Holy Spirit.  Don’t wait until you are empty.

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18, KJV).
