Would vs. Can

“If you can't do the good you would, do the good you can.”  -Chuck Swindoll

People like to tell themselves all sorts of white lies.  “If I had more time then I would spend more time with my family.”  Or, “If I made more money then I’d be generous.”  Maybe it’s: “If she would put more effort into improving our marriage then I would too.”  Often people have an all-or-nothing mentality which only hinders them from living up to their God-given potential.  Decide today to use all the time, money, and effort you can give to make a difference and be everything God has called you to be.

Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it's in your power to help them (Proverbs 3:27, NLT).
