“A huge part of losing weight is believing that you can do it…” –author unknown
I’m proud to say that over the last few months my father has lost 43 pounds. To become whom he wants to be he’s made sacrifices through disciplined eating and consistent exercise. To become great men and women of faith we need to shed spiritual pounds that have weighed us down. Some of you have been carrying excess pounds of grief, unforgiveness, bitterness, pride, selfishness and guilt. If you want to shape up then you too will have to sacrifice. Surrender your life to God as a living sacrifice (Rom. 12:1) so that He can become the potter, and you the clay. It’s at this vulnerable place of surrender that God will sculpt a more joyful, peaceful and faithful you.
…let us strip off every weight that slows us down (Hebrews 12:1, NLT).
